Mark Mountel

Prior to joining LEC, Mark accumulated ten years of experience as a clinical Licensed Independent Social Worker at a long-term care and rehabilitation center in Cincinnati. In 1998, he transitioned to the technology sector, serving as a liaison between clinical teams and the IT department to facilitate effective communication. Subsequently, Mark advanced to the role of Project Manager, where he oversaw the implementation, programming, and support of AS/400 – DOS based applications while guiding the organization’s shift to a network-based system for all applications.

Mark became part of LEC in 2006 with a mission to leverage secure, efficient, and scalable technology to optimize business processes and enhance the lives of residents. As HIPAA Security Officer, he leads initiatives in the development, implementation, and maintenance of privacy policies aligned with federal and state regulations, as well as oversees cybersecurity management.

Throughout his twenty-year tenure, Mark has constructed a comprehensive infrastructure that enhances connectivity and technology services across each of the six LEC communities, promoting access, redundancy, and business continuity. The infrastructure supports robust and secure Wi-Fi coverage for both operational and residential needs and is designed for seamless “plug and play” integration when establishing new communities or affiliations.
Mark holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky. He also studied Personnel Management at the University of Cincinnati College of Business.

He is a devoted parent to five children and maintains a forward-thinking outlook.
